Madison revealed that it isn’t because of jealousy, but just out of courtesy to the couple, states E! News. “I feel like the attention should be on them,” Madison believes.

Catch him in conversation with us as he speaks about the film, working with father Dharmendra, brother Bobby Deol and lots more.

There is a huge buzz surrounding the YAMLA PAGLAA DEEWANA. It must be a great feeling.

This is one film which we have been working very hard for. We had a tough time convincing people to do the film. Then we had different other issues. Dad fell ill for a while. Then, even I fell ill because of which the schedule was extended. Every film has a tough period. But we had a tough time the whole year. At the end of the day we were very positive about our film. When the promos first aired on 5th November, my distributors in cinema halls made me hear the reactions of people on their cell phones. It was the best Diwali I could've thought of. Now the promos are all over. People are very positive and it feels really nice that they genuinely feel happy for us. They really want something of ours to work and they feel this will be the film they would love to see us in. It feels great.

Are you playing Dharmendra's son in the film? What's the film all about?

Papa (Dharmendra) is playing my father and Bobby is playing my brother. The subject is not taken from any old film but it's like how it used to be in old films. It's a lost and found story. We all get separated. I go with my mom and Bobby goes with dad. I reach Canada and they are in India. I get married to a gori and have two lovely kids. I get a client in Canada who gets duped by some people in Banaras. Then I come to know that those people are none other than my father and brother. I come down to Banaras and the film goes along from there. It's a great fun film.

You are not known to be a good dancer. But you will be seen dancing a lot in the film.

Yes, that's what we are doing in the film. We're enjoying the songs and music. Bobby was always a great dancer. Dad always had his own style and people have always loved him that way. I was the person who always used to fight with it. Eventually I gave into in because people love me like doing my own dance steps, how they love my dad. I've realised over a period of time that you don't have to be a perfectionist or you have to know how to dance. You just have to enjoy the music. Let your body react. It doesn't matter if you have two left feet.

Which is the one thing that Sunny is really Pagla (mad) about?

I'm mad about driving. I love to go on long drives. I'm mad about cars. That's one passion that I have.

How was it working with Dharmendra and Bobby again after APNE?

APNE received a good response. After it we were burdened with what next? We wanted to do something "different". Wherever we went, people said that we made them cry. So we wanted to entertain them. We decided to make them laugh. May be also cry a bit but make them enjoy the film. So I narrated an idea to Samir and we were on. We were looking for writers after that, then Jassi (Jasvinder Bath) came along. I gave him the subject and we got started. It took us a year and a half to draft it over and over again.

What are your expectations from the film?

I want to do everything possible for this film. It's my dad's 50 years in the industry. I want it to be a great success and a landmark film. We'll know about it only after it releases. Let's see what happens.

When you were on the sets, was it easy or difficult working with your own family members?

We live together. But when we are doing a film, we follow the subject and the characters. So it's not difficult at all.

You are playing a sardar again. How its different from the earlier ones?

I've done BODER, GADAR and JO BOLE...This is my fourth outing as a sardar. JO BOLE...was a comedy. Here too the situations are funny. It's not slapstick.

You are known for your action roles. Is doing comedy difficult?

I don't think anything is difficult or easy. Difficult is only when you are doing something that you are not comfortable with. Like I'm doing a film in which I have to deliver Sanskrit dialogues. Otherwise, to do different roles is what we actors want to do.

YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA was supposed to release during Christmas. Did someone ask you to postpone it?

It was simply a rumour. No one asked me to postpone YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA. Earlier on I've clashed a lot with a lot of my films. That's what I've been known for. But times were different then. That time we had only individual theatres. Now the whole scenario is changed. The multiplexes have come in and the whole game is just three days. Everyone sees to it that his film has a clear run. Why clash and eat into one another's business?

You made your debut in 1983. It's been more than 27 years now. How will you sum up your career till now?

It's been 27 years now but when I started my career, I never thought 27 years would go so fast. I've always idolized my dad. I want to be in the industry as long as I can. I want to work and enjoy and as long as I have the passion for acting. As long as my fans love me and want me, I will be there.

How do you keep yourself going?

I'm very positive person. Whatever the hurdle may be, you just have to keep at it. It's my love for cinema and my love to do different kinds of films that keep me going.

Can you imagine life without movies?

I can't really imagine my life without movies. You get a chance to play different kinds of characters. There's no other profession which offers you this kind of variety and thrill.

Why do we see you in few films now?

My back kept me away from cinema. I haven't had great scripts or films to be made. Ever since the multinationals came in, the scenario of filmmaking changed. I somehow didn't get the opportunity to sail in the wave like the other actors did in that ambience. But I've not gone anywhere. I'm very sure about my fans. They love me. You need producers to produce your film. It's being controlled by multinationals. It's all become marketing now. We are not good marketing people. That's something we Deols have never done. We have let our work speak for us. We speak in short about our work. That's the shortcoming we have.

What are your future projects?

I'm doing a film with Kangna. It's being directed by Vinay Sapru and Radhika. It's not yet titled. Again the word "different" applies to it because I have never done anything like that before. It's a story about New Year's Eve. It's an interesting mix of love, comedy and mystery.

OpenLeaks rivals Julian Assange

A number of WikiLeaks defectors, including founder Julian Assange's former right-hand man, plan to launch a rival site on Monday after accusing Assange of behaving like "some kind of emperor or slave trader".

With WikiLeaks itself vowing to press on with its leaking regardless of the fate of Assange, it seems that any attempts by US politicians to stop the leaks will be futile.

The new site, Openleaks, will launch on Monday, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported. Like WikiLeaks, it will allow whistleblowers to leak information to the public anonymously.

However, Openleaks won't host the documents itself, instead acting as an intermediary between whistleblowers and other groups including media organisations.

Several WikiLeaks members abandoned the site following perceived autocratic behaviour by Assange. They said he failed to consult them on many decisions and put himself front and centre of everything WikiLeaks did.

Some members were also concerned that the Swedish rape allegations against Assange were damaging the organisation's reputation.

"We broke from WikiLeaks because a few ex-WikiLeaks members have been very unhappy with the way Assange was conducting things," said former WikiLeaks member and key player in the new site, Herbert Snorrason.

The most high-profile defector is Daniel Domscheit-Berg, who went by the name Daniel Schmitt at WikiLeaks and served as one of its only public faces aside from Assange.

Domscheit-Berg resigned from the organisation this year after WikiLeaks released almost 4,00,000 classified US documents relating to the Iraq war.

He, and other WikiLeaks members, felt Assange released the documents too early without taking the time to properly redact names of US collaborators and informants in Iraq.

"You are not anyone's king or god," Domscheit-Berg told Assange in an online chat.

'Infatuated' female officer in UK had sex with prisoner in his cell

A UK female prison officer has been sentenced to two years in prison for having a sexual relationship with a prisoner.
Donna Stanton, 28, began a sexual relationship with heroin addict Eric Fitzgerald while he was serving the last few months of a seven-year sentence at Bedford prison.
Luton Crown Court heard how she smuggled a mobile phone into his cell, which was against prison rules, and after his release their affair continued.
She lavished gifts and money on him and even gave him a car to use on his release.
But when the relationship turned sour, Stanton falsely accused Fitzgerald of blackmailing her, which led to his arrest and her subsequent trial.
"There is a saying isn't there that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and that is what this case is about," the Daily Mail quoted Prosecutor Laura Blackband as saying.
Stanton has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to giving a mobile phone to a prisoner and doing acts tending to pervert the course of public justice.
Sentencing, Judge John Bevan QC said the former prison officer had abused her position of trust.
"You are of good character, or you were of good character," he said.
"You allowed yourself to become infatuated and involved with a criminal with a serious record.
"You lavished presents on him, you accepted that he was a drug user and when it broke down, it inevitably all went to pieces.
"You were given a position of trust within the prison service. You were trusted to protect the interests of the public, other prisoners and your fellow officers.
"You have brought shame on yourself by grossly abusing that trust, falling for a long-term prisoner," he added.
The court heard Stanton became 'infatuated' with Fitzgerald in 2008 when he was moved to Bedford Prison, where she had worked for four years.
Stanton also pleaded not guilty to two counts of misconduct in a public office, which were ordered to lie on her record.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani the flick opens with Farhan(R. Madhavan) and Raju (Sharman Joshi) beginning a journey in search of their lost friend Ranchoddas Shaymaldas Chajaad (Aamir Khan) who leaves college all of sudden.

The movie proceeds through narrations that take you into the flashback when Rancho, Farhan and Raju arrive at a premier engineering institute to begin their course.

The three are roommates and go about their life at college in a lively way occasionally Raju and Farhan being worried about Rancho’s antiques.

The so called “villain” of the flick whose ways are against that of Rancho is the Dean of the college Viru Sahastrabuddhe (Boman Irani). In addition, to make matters worse Rancho happens to find love in his daughter Pia (Kareena Kapoor).

The movie has some really hilarious moments with wedding reception mayhem of Viru’s oldest daughter played by Mona Singh, Raju’s father being reached to the hospital in a very funny way on a two-wheeler and so on.

The first half keeps you at wits end. But, enter second half and you are no longer given the same experience of the first half. The end stretches a bit too long and some things are just too away from spontaneity.

The music is light and entertaining. On the whole a decent flick. Only time will tell if it joins the ranks of Aamir Khan’s other blockbuster movies.

3 Idiots works and how! With a good grip on emotions and entertainment, 3 Idiots is the biggest hit of 2009 for sure. Take it from us.

Sainz was working for TV Azteca during the New York Jets practise session on Saturday 14th September 2010, when a number of incidents were said to have taken place. The New York Post suggests that during drills, a team coach purposely overthrew passes that landed near Sainz on the sideline. The musician was a regularly tweeter when the micro-blogging site first became popular, but his interest in updating his millions of followers waned after several of his more controversial posts hit the headlines.

MICHAEL DOUGLAS is refusing to sink into lows about his own mortality as he battles cancer - because he believes doctors when they tell him he has a good chance of fully recovering.
The movie star was diagnosed with stage four throat cancer this summer (10) and is currently undergoing intensive treatment in a bid to beat the killer disease.
And in one of his final interviews before taking private time to concentrate on the health battle ahead, Douglas has asked fans not to feel sorry for him - because he's a fighter.
He tells USA Today, "I like my odds. I’m not dealing with mortality issues until they tell me, 'Oops, we have to go back and do surgery', or something like that. The tumor is shrinking. The odds are good... I haven’t found God yet.
"I was really upset early on, but I’ve had time to realise that (stuff) happens."
But Douglas admits his bad days are already terrible and he has taken to drinking aloe-infused water to ease the pain in his throat from radiation treatment and chemotherapy.
He adds, "I have the treatments in the morning. They tend to kind of knock me out till usually the early afternoon. I lie down and take it easy."
And he is making sure his young kids with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones are well aware of what dad's going through - by occasionally taking them to hospital with him.
He explains, "They’ve been fine. I’ve taken them down to the hospital and shown them the whole radiology thing. They’ve watched me actually get zapped.
"I don’t know what else you would do. It’s what it is."

STEPHEN FRY has blasted former British Prime Minister TONY BLAIR over the war in Iraq, insisting the politician made the decision to send in troops while there was a "storm" raging in his mind.
The actor and funnyman launched his new memoirs, The Fry Chronicles, on Monday (13Sep10) and used the opportunity to take aim at Blair, whose story of his time in power - A Journey - was released earlier this month (Sep10).
Fry admits he picked up a copy of the book but struggled to read it as he is still upset about Blair's decision to invade Iraq.
He tells Sky News, "I started to read it... I find I stare at the ceiling quite a lot with my eyes watering and my mouth making shapes that, if you were a lip-reader, you would find obscene. I found it very, very odd.
"I think something peculiar happened inside. I think he had a little bit of a storm in his brain, didn't he? And something went wrong, and we are all very sorry and we are all tiptoeing round his bed and wishing him the best and hoping he recovers very soon."
Fry also joked he is concerned about the public's reaction to his own memoirs after Blair was pelted with missiles by anti-war protesters during a recent book signing in Dublin, Ireland.
He adds, "Let's hope people won't be throwing eggs at me. I'm sure I have done many bad things in my life but starting a war in the Middle East isn't one of them, I am happy to say."

Hip-hop veterans CYPRESS HILL and Apple executives have been slapped with a copyright infringement lawsuit over a song released almost 20 years ago.
The bosses of California-based Drive-In Music Company have accused the group of illegally sampling a portion of The Music MAChine tune Come on In on the band's 1991 track How I Could Just Kill a Man, which was released on Cypress Hill's self-titled debut album.
According to a lawsuit filed in the Central District Court of California on 10 September (10), Drive-In bosses were alerted to the alleged sampling after seeing copies of the song for sale on Apple's iTunes.
And they claim both parties continue to profit illegally, by continuing to sell digital copies of the song in question.
Company lawyers are now seeking an injunction to halt any further sales of Cypress Hill's debut album, the impoundment of any existing copies and unspecified damages.
News of the lawsuit comes just days after Drive-In executives accused rapper Busta Rhymes and his former Leaders of the New School bandmates of illegally sampling Dyke and The Blazers' tune Let A Woman Be A Woman, Let A Man Be A Man on their 1991 track Case of the P.T.A.
The music executives are seeking a permanent injunction against future sales of the New School album in question, as well an impoundment of remaining CD copies in that suit.

The Colombian singer and Freshlyground won over worldwide audiences with their song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), which became the official anthem for the soccer tournament in the band's native South Africa.
But the members of the pop group found themselves at the centre of political controversy last week (ends10Sep10) after Zimbabwean authorities revoked work permits for a series of planned October (10) concerts in the country, according to singer Zolani Mahola.
Mahola tells The Associated Press no reason was given, but she believes the band's controversial Chicken to Change video, released earlier this month (Sep10), is to blame - because in it they ridicule Zimbabwe's President.
The video features a puppet depicting longtime President Robert Mugabe isolated in a limousine, uncaring of his people's suffering during a time of economic and political crisis. The puppet then transforms into a fearful chicken as Zolani sings for change.

The source told fan site Coldplaying.com: "Chris said that although they are close to finishing lots of songs, they have not actually finished anything at all yet, even 'Wedding Bells'!
"They band always seem to finish a huge bulk of songs together. He was very confident anyway, but said that the last two months have not been as completely productive as first imagined.
"But he also said 'You can't rush things like this!'"
Coldplay originally retired to the studio in 2009 to start recording, and at the time Chris - who is joined in the band by guitarist Johnny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion - was "banned" by producer Brian Eno, so the other members of the group could write ideas without him.
He explained: "Brian said that he still wanted to work with us on the next album but that I was banned from the studio! He said that it would be better without me for the first two weeks - 'You can do better without the singer!' he said.

One of LINDSAY LOHAN's leading critics has changed his tune - celebrity drug and alcohol counsellor DR DREW PINSKY has commended the actress for seemingly turning her life around following her stint in prison.
Last year (09), Pinsky, who helps celebrities manage their addictions on U.S. TV show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, took aim at the Mean Girls' unhealthy lifestyle, insisting she would only beat her demons by suffering a "mortal wound".
He told Parade magazine, "I'm convinced that she'll get sober one day. But I'm afraid that between now and then, she may get a nearly mortal wound of some type... I have this image that she's going to lose a limb or something before she does."
Lohan was dealt a blow in July (10) when she was sent to prison before starting a court-ordered rehab stint for violating her probation on a 2007 DUI arrest, and now she appears to have kicked her bad habits since her release last month (Aug10).
And Pinsky is thrilled Lohan is back on the right path.

LADY GAGA has angered animal rights activists after posing in meat-style clothes for the second time in a week.
The Poker Face hitmaker attracted criticism earlier this month (Sep10) when she posed in a bikini made from slabs of beef for the cover of Japan's Hommes Vogue magazine.
But she was unrepentant at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (12Sep10), repeating the stomach-churning stunt in a dress apparently fashioned from strips of red meat - and with a steak balanced on her head.
Animal rights workers have blasted Gaga yet again, urging her to ditch the meat-based clothing before she alienates all her vegetarian fans.

The second part of Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy details another spiralling mystery, but this time it's even more personal for the protagonists.
Which makes it more subtly involving for us as well, even though it's the middle chapter.

It's a year later, and journalist Mikael (Nyqvist) has lost touch with young hacker Lisbeth (Rapace). Suddenly she's in the news as the suspect in a double murder that's connected to his work as an editor at Millennium magazine. As the cops look for her, Mikael tries to get to the bottom of the story. But a ruthless, gigantic goon (Spreitz) is also after her, and he's working for the elusive Russian mobster Zala (Staykov) who seems to be behind everything that's happening.

Alfredson (brother of Tomas) directs with a slick, sure hand, quietly insinuating all kinds of things as the story widens and then contracts suddenly into an intense final act. In many ways it's like an extended episode of a police procedural series, as various characters approach a central mystery from different directions. And the plot is a little over-constructed in the way it draws everything together into a single confrontation. This requires a few threads to be lost along the way as well as a couple of brief contrivances.

But what makes the film gripping is the way it closes in so tightly around the two central characters, and since they're apart for most of the film Nyqvist and Rapace get the chance to develop them a little deeper. Intriguingly, even though they're physically separated, they are actually working together all the way through the story, and even without sharing scenes they have palpable chemistry.

Along the way there are a few detours (a random car chase, a gratuitous sex scene, a vicious fist fight), but the film builds a relentlessly suspenseful tone through a series of freaky scenarios and unpredictable encounters. And the taut pacing makes sure that our interest deepens as the events encompass big issues like human trafficking while also focussing intimately on Lisbeth and Mikael's own lives. And the abrupt ending leaves us wondering where Part 3 will go from here.

London, Aug 11 (IANS) The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has warned Kevin Pietersen not to have further meetings with Lalit Modi, the suspended Indian Premier League commissioner.

The decision is seen as a fallout of the meeting between the two before England's first Test match against Pakistan at Trent Bridge.

In May, Giles Clarke, chairman of the ECB, circulated an email warning officials of Pietersen's current county side Hampshire against meeting Modi until the latter was cleared of corruption charges, The Telegraph reported Wednesday.

The ECB board officials further spoke to Pietersen on the issue after he scored a fifty in the second Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston, the report said.

When asked about his relationship with the former IPL commissioner, Pietersen told ECB that he had only met an old friend for a beer.

The England batsmen was recently dropped from his county side Hampshire's squad for T20 finals against Essex Saturday. Pietersen had expressed a desire to move to some other county as his home in Chelsea is far away from the Hampshire's Rose Bowl ground.

'I think the ECB policy will be that all of our international players must be contracted to a county, but I wouldn't be overly concerned if Kevin hasn't sorted out his county situation by the time we get under way in Australia,' said Andy Flower, England team director.

Megastar WESLEY SNIPES, who was convicted with a 3 year custodial sentence following his 2008 court case, has failed in his attempt to appeal that the sentence was "unreasonable". Snipes was found guilty of not filing his tax returns for 1999, 2000 and 2001 back in 2008 and has been on bail since.

Stylish direction and an above-average cast help lift this noisy action sequel above the fray. But nothing can disguise the fact that it's also contrived, chaotic and ultimately pointless.

Eight people wake up in freefall as they drop into a mysterious jungle. It's clear that they've been carefully selected: the mercenary tough guy (Brody), brainy scientist (Grace), military hero (Braga), death-row maniac (Goggins), Russian fighter (Taktarov), Mexican brawler (Trejo), Yakuza killer (Changchien) and African warrior (Ali). And they soon realise that they're on some alien planet, acting as both prey and predators in some sick hunting game. Then they encounter a jittery nutcase (Fishburne) who has somehow eluded attack for several years.

The set-up feels like either a brutal variation on Lost or an extended episode of The Twilight Zone, as mysteries resolve themselves very slowly (or not at all) and tables are constantly turned while moral lessons are learned. Much of the dialog consists of grunting cliches, but the actors manage to inject personalities wherever they can, and the whole film has a jolt of attitude that keeps it from being boring even as the action gets increasingly tedious.

The main problem is that one glaring logical lapse means that all of the key clashes take place at night, which might cover up deficiencies in effects work but leaves key details impossible to make out. For example, why have a samurai vs alien blade battle when you can barely see what's happening? After the bracingly thrilling opening and the visually stunning first act, the final face-offs are so murky that it's difficult to care who wins.

Even so, the actors are good fun to watch as they bicker and stumble and try to figure out what's going on. Grace's character only seems to be there to fall down, lose his way or almost get killed at every turn. And the clash between Brody's ruthless survivalism and Braga's steely humanity not only gives the film some intriguing thematic subtext but also adds the requisite romantic element. Not that any of that matters; this is a fast, violent summer movie that isn't really meant to make us think about anything.

It is believed that humans barely use 5 percent of their brain capacity. Most cinema thus involve you only that much. Yet, there are a few that challenge you and thus fall in the other 95 percent of your brain. "Inception" is one such challenging film.

In a futuristic world where it is possible to trek through a human’s mind as if it were a place, Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a thief extraordinaire. He specialises in stealing information from the minds of people. Yet, he is on the run from his own country and his children because he has a warrant on his head for having killed his wife, who it is obvious he loved very much.

When Cobb gets an assignment to do just the reverse of his skill, i.e. to plant an idea instead of stealing it, he takes it because it promises him a return back home to his children.

He gathers a team of men for the mission, and they all realise how difficult the assignment is because no matter what, an idea can be traced back. So, to plant the idea, they not only have to go into his subconscious, but have to go two more levels deeper. Any deeper, and they’d be lost forever.

Things go from bad to worse, when they realised that their subject’s mind has been ‘militarised’ i.e. they have been trained for such mind espionage. The battle to plant a secret becomes a battle for survival against time.

Christopher Nolan, who has given us such psychological thriller like "Momento" and "The Dark Knight", enters with confidence into the subconscious and weaves a difficult, but believable, tale of loss, guilt and a chance at self-redemption.

Yet, like most masters of cinema, this is only at the surface. Deep down, the film is about a multitude of things, about your own private hell which is nothing but the demons in your own mind, the tragedy of the beautiful and the beauty of the tragic.

Depending upon your perception of yourself, and your reality, you’ll get different things from the film.

DiCaprio returns to his familiar domain, something that he has dabbled with earlier in films like "Aviator" and "Shutter Island". The music from his regular, Oscar winner Hans Zimmer, and the supporting cast and crew is spot on.

Yet, make no mistakes - it is a Christopher Nolan film all the way through. He is the Bergman, the Fellini of Hollywood. He is made of the same cinematic and life intelligence of erstwhile Hollywood masters like Ernst Lubitsch or Elia Kazan.

And in the sea of mediocrity that Hollywood is, he is a shining example of what a thinking director can do - not pander to the lowest common denominator of entertainment, and yet make a entertaining and commercially successful film.

In his hands you realise the ‘true’ potential of special effects, which is not merely to titillate the viewer, but to confront him and leave him squirming in his seat.

If you are a lazy person, who loves to be spoon fed by directors, there perhaps won’t be much you’ll get from the film. But then, don’t blame Nolan for the same.

The underdog is a perennial Hollywood favourite and has led to two types of film. The chick-flick, like chic-lit, where a nerdy girl, like Cinderella, finds out she is indeed a queen. Or the other where an average Joe, mostly a male teenager, an object of ridicule, comes of age led by some event or some person. "The Sorcerer's…" is the latter.

Over a thousand years back, a master sorcerer was betrayed by one of his apprentices, Maxim (Alfred Molina). Before dying he gives his most loyal apprentice Balthazar (Nicolas Cage) a dragon ring which will choose the next master. Since then Balthazar, has been fighting evil and trying to look for the next master to teach him magic.

In the year 2000 destiny leads the next apprentice, David, a boy of 10, to him but when Maxim is released, he imprisons himself with him to save the boy.

Ten years later, the boy, now a youth and still struggling with the tag of being a nerd, discovers with the help of Balthazar his true destiny, that of being the next master, when both Maxim and Blathazar are released. He trains under Balthazar, in a bid to fight off Maxim and save the world, while holding on to the teenager of his love in the process.

"The Sorcerers'…" has some really good special effects, but beyond that, it has nothing that can take it over the edge to help you remember that film. The writing is also average with a sharp wit missing, and hackneyed plots and sub-plots.

The film pays tribute to its origin - a poem by Goethe with the same name. In one scene when Balthazar leaves David because he has to meet his girlfriend, he employs the little magic that he knows, sets the broom to life to clean up the place. But when he returns after a bath, the place is full of water as the broom has run amuck.

This is almost exactly like Goethe's poem. Yet, the film advances the poem by using modern science to explain magic. In one sweep, Balthazar explains to his not so eager apprentice that whereas the normal human mind uses only 10 percent of the brain capacity, the sorcerer uses 100 percent, thus manipulating matter that seems like magic to others. Simple, yes, but too corny to explain complicated magic!

The beautiful Monica Bellucci makes a guest appearance, prompting you to the obvious conclusion, that there will be a sequel. Hope they employ better writers for this one.

The socialite was reportedly stopped by officials at an airport on the French island of Corsica on Friday (16Jul10) after jetting in on a private plane en route to Sardinia, Italy.
It is claimed authorities found less than a gram of marijuana in the heiress' carry-on luggage but no charges were made and she was allowed to continue her journey.

A rep for CHRISTINA AGUILERA's record label has denied bosses have fallen out with the singer over the relatively poor sales of her latest album BIONIC.
The Dirrty superstar released her fourth disc in June (10) - her first in four years - and has only manged to shift 200,000 copies of the album in the five weeks it has been on sale in the U.S.
The record also made chart history in the U.K. for being the lowest-selling album to make it to the number one spot in eight years, as well as suffering the quickest decline of a chart topping disc.
Reports claimed the poor sales stemmed from Aguilera refusing to listen to her label's suggestions that she needed to update her pop sound to compete in a modern market - but a rep from RCA Records insists the singer is still one of the company's top talents.

Toy Story 3 Movie Review

Pixar's keystone franchise takes on the tone of its more serious recent films (Wall-E and Up), mixing comedy, action and emotion in a way that's pure magic: we end up laughing, frightened and crying tears of both dismay and joy.

Andy (Morris) is getting ready to go to university, so the toys are preparing to be deposited in the attic. But a mix-up sees Woody (Hanks), Buzz (Allen) and pals sent instead to Sunnyside Daycare, an apparently happy place with no end of children to play with them. Except they're put in the terrible 2's room. And the leader of the Sunnyside toys, Lots-o-Huggin Bear (Beatty) is more like a prison warden. After a series of adventures, the toys must plot an elaborate escape.

The film opens with a fantastic (and fantastical) action set piece set in the Wild West, complete with dinosaurs and spaceships, before transitioning into a more melancholy exploration of the changes life throws at us as we grow up. The sadness the toys feel about not being played with is palpable, as is the bittersweet elation of the toy paradise they enter (no one owns the toys so there's no heartbreak). And there's more to come. These dark shadings add weight and meaning to what's essentially a comical romp.

And the characters develop through increasingly beautiful animation (the 3D is very subtle) and terrific vocal work. The filmmakers weave in clever new characters, including bringing in Ken (Keaton) as a foil for Barbie (Benson).
That he gets the film's dress-up montage is a stroke of genius. And there are also inventive twists, such as a hilarious scene involving Mr Potato Head (Rickles) and a tortilla. The most memorable new character is a little girl (Hahn) who sparks something unexpected in Woody, Andy and us.

Constant comical touches keep us laughing even as things get very bleak, and there's one scene that's genuinely (and beautifully) distressing. Amid all the lively antics, this is a thoughtful story about regret for the past and fear of the future, and it leaves plenty of themes for us to think about afterwards.
Mainly, though, it'll leave children in mortal terror of ever throwing away another toy.

Insomniac Events bosses were heavily criticised after more than 100 dance music fans were admitted to hospital after fans scrambled to gain access to the Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park festival, which was headlined by Moby.
Officials claimed many of the injuries occurred as crowds rushed the gates and barriers in a bid to force their way into the event, which 185,000 music fans attended last month (Jun10).
The promoters have hired Investigative Advisory Group, a consulting firm that has experience creating overall safety and security protocols for large venues, to analyze Insomniac's current and proposed safety protocols and procedures for the company's music festivals throughout the U.S.
A spokesman says, "These safety protocols will create new standard operating procedures adapted to the new challenges involved in music festivals, including Electric Daisy Carnival."
The firm has also established an '18 and older' policy for all its dance music festivals after a 15-year-old reveller died from a drug overdose at the Electric Daisy Carnival.

Newly reunited British boyband TAKE THAT have been asked to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, according to a report.
The Back for Good hitmakers have reunited with singer Robbie Williams to form a full line-up for the first time in 15 years.
On Thursday (15Jul10), all five singers - Williams, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald, and Jason Orange - issued a statement confirming they will release a new album in November (10) and embark on a tour.
And the group has already been approached to help kick off the international summer sporting event in Stratford, east London in 2012, according to Britain's Daily Mirror.
A source tells the publication, "When rumours surfaced about a possible reunion, the committee immediately added Take That to the long list of possible performers. Atkinson Angers Neighbours Over Property Plans

British funnyman ROWAN ATKINSON has angered local residents near his home in England over plans to transform the traditional property into a modern building.
The Mr Bean star has submitted a planning application to demolish his country mansion in Oxfordshire and replace it with a $7.5 million (£5 million) modern "reinvention".
Atkinson, who bought the home in 2006, insists the planned plaster and glass design will not be "weird or futuristic" but would be "simple, graceful and elegant", adding: "It would be a terrible shame if people felt that there was no place in the countryside for modern design."
The description in the planning application reads, "The design is a reinvention of the traditional country house. The home will add to our architectural heritage rather than parody it."
But the proposals have been met with fury from the actor's neighbours, with one resident, Ben Yates, telling Britain's The Sun, "It will look like an ugly space-age petrol station. If he gets planning permission it will just go to show that he has got more money than sense."
The Chilterns Conservation Board has also described the plan as "completely inappropriate".
A decision over the proposal will be made by officials at South Oxfordshire District Council in September (10).

Inception Movie Review

Nolan pulls us into another fiendishly entertaining scenario, engaging our brains while taking us on a thrilling ride. And while the mind-bending story might not be as cerebral as it seems, it completely envelops us.

Cobb (DiCaprio) invades people's dreams for a living, stealing ideas with the help of his sidekick Arthur (Gordon-Levitt). But a new client (Watanabe) wants him to try inception instead: implanting an idea in the mind of media heir Fischer (Murphy). So Cobb hires a new architect (Page) and two other skilled experts (Hardy and Rao) to create an elaborately layered dreamworld for the reverse heist. The problem is that Cobb's wife (Cotillard) is lurking in this alternate reality and could bring the whole plan crashing down around them.

The fantastical element of the plot (how people can team up to enter someone's dream) is taken as a given from the start with the help of a never-explained gadget, so we don't need to worry about that. We can get on with enjoying the twists and turns of the plot, the outrageous situations and some fantastic effects work that continually challenges our perceptions. As usual, Nolan never lets the visual gimmickry take over the plot, keeping it under control as part of the story, and the result is simply exhilarating.

Even though the plot isn't actually that complex or difficult to follow, it is almost impossible to explain in any detail. The best scene is a fight in a hotel that is tumbling and rolling (for a very clear reason) as Gordon-Levitt grapples with a series of gun-toting goons. But other elements are just as exciting, and the way everything is edited together into an overall action romp is seriously impressive.

The cast is terrific as well. DiCaprio is perhaps a bit cold in the central role as a man haunted by past decisions and actions. But everyone around him resonates strongly, most notably Cotillard. Hardy and Murphy also have their moments to shine in the ensemble, while strong side roles for Caine (as Cobb's father) and Berenger (as Fischer's lawyer) add some weight. And in the end, as themes of regret, grief and redemption swell and undulate, the cast members beautifully draw some multi-layered meaning from the on-screen fun.

The extensive research that Rahul Dholakia has put into the making of Lamhaa will now be extended beyond the film into a book on the politics of Kashmir.

Dholakia feels he has enough material to expose what he calls “the business of keeping militancy alive in the Valley.”

In a shocking expose on Kashmiri politics Dholakia says, “Militancy in Kashmir has become a huge business. Everyone is making a profit out of it. I interviewed the top politicians and extremist leaders. They all seemed to feel the same way. In fact one extremist leader whom I cannot name, said, ‘I’m taking money from both sides (India and Pakistan)’. ”

Such revelations, never made before, would form a part of Dholakia’s book of interviews on Kashmiri militancy.

Says the filmmaker, “I’ve so much material far beyond the film. I’ve taped interviews with extremist leaders and Kashmiri politicians, all adding up to a volatile picture of the Valley. I will publish my Kashmir papers. ”

What triggered the idea of making a film like Lamhaa?
When I had screened my film Parzania, one of the Kashmiri students at Anahad, an NGO in Delhi, stated that in Kashmir, all of them were living in a beautiful prison. His statement triggered the idea of making a film on Kashmir because it was an intriguing idea.

What is Lamhaa all about?
Lamhaa is a moment of uncertainty, which exists in every Kashmiri's life today. It is that moment when a simple homely boy can become a suicide bomber. It is that moment when a soldier can be shot by a Lashkar bullet and there is a wafer thin line between a militant and a freedom fighter.

My film Lamhaa is made up of many such tender moments faced by the normal Kashmiri, day to day for the last 18 years.

Lamhaa is more about today than the history of Kashmir. To make it engrossing and appealing to the larger audience, I have incorporated a fictional plot in Lamhaa.

Is Lamhaa a pro or an anti Kashmir film?
The subject is about how Vikram played by Sanjay Dutt, a Military Intelligence Officer is brought back to the valley to uncover a plot. During his journey, Vikram comes across a lot of situations which the common Kashmiri is battling today.

It is neither a pro nor anti Kashmir film. It is a very balanced film which while putting up a view point of the Kashmiri today strongly, also sets out to tell that today the Kashmiri is also divided, because one set wants peace and progress, represented by Kunal Kapoor, the other, represented by the separatist leader played by Anupam Kher, wants freedom at any cost.

Bipasha Basu plays a Kashmiri girl called Azeeza, who is battling both her internal and external conflicts. Though initially, Azeeza works for the separatist leader, gradually she understands the larger picture during the course of the film.

Why did you not play safe and shoot your film in safer locations in Kashmir like Pahalgam or Gulmarg?
I wrote the script of Lamhaa during my various visits to Kashmir. It was extremely difficult to shoot the film in Kashmir.

The first time when we went to shoot there, there was no government in place and it was either the President's or the Governor's rule in Kashmir and hence there was absolutely no support system for us.

It would have been very easy to shoot in Gulmarg or Pahalgam but I wanted to shoot in downtown Srinagar, because besides the fact that the script was written keeping in mind the locations in Srinagar, I needed an environment of the city when all these things happen. Hence I chose to shoot near Jama Masjid where a curfew has now been imposed.

How did you zero in on Sanjay Dutt to play the role of the middle -aged Vikram in Lamhaa?
I did not want to cast Naseeruddin Shah in the role that I had ear marked for Sanjay Dutt because I did not want to make another Parzania. When my E.P., Rubina met producer Bunty Walia, he liked the idea of the subject of Lamhaa and suggested that I cast Sanjay Dutt in the film.

I decided to cast Sanjay because I needed a mature actor, not a Ranbir Kapoor type. It was not at all difficult to convince Sanjay Dutt, because once he heard the basic idea in ten minutes, he was game to fly down to shoot in Srinagar and started talking about Kashmir and sharing stories about the valley and also cried about the deterioration of Dal Lake over the years.

Initially we had sets in plan at Film City in Goregaon, but since we could not get people who looked like Kashmiris, we dropped the idea. I also went to Manali but could not replicate Kashmir. When producer Bunty Walia managed to get the locations free in Srinagar, Sanjay was brave enough to come forward to shoot for the film in Srinagar.

Karisma Kapoor and not Bipasha Basu was your first choice for Lamhaa!
Kehta Hai Dil Baar Baar was my first film as a director. Since Bipasha Basu for some reasons could not do that film for me, I got Kim Sharma to play the lead opposite Jimmy Shergill in the film.

For Lamhaa, let me confess that it was Karisma Kapoor who I had approached first but though she was willing to act in the film, she was scared and hence did not want to come to the valley to shoot for the film.

By then I realized that the character of Azeeza needed an actress who is athletic and on the edge and also willing to give me time for the project. Bipasha fitted the bill. Bipasha agreed to be part of the project because besides the fact that she knew me, she had also acted with Sanjay Dutt earlier in three films including Rudraksh.

Tell me about your next film after Lamhaa- Society Kaam Se Gayee!
After Lamhaa, I wanted to make stress free, light and quick film. Can you believe it, though? Lamhaa is seeing the light of the day only now after I have already completed my next film. It is a relatively simple film like Society Kaam Se Gayee.

It was earlier titled Society but sounded too intellectual for my liking. It is about the water problem faced by the housing societies in a city like Mumbai. It is a satire which is an amalgamation of really weird characters.

How would you evaluate your growth as a filmmaker from Kehta Hai Dil Baar Baar to Society Kaam Se Gayee?
I made Kehta Hai Dil Baar Baar in 1998, started Parzania way back in 2002 and now my Lamhaa is being released in 2010. It has been a journey of twelve years as far as I am concerned, as a director. I am happy with my journey, because I have made at least two good films.

People are taking me a little more seriously after Parzania and Lamhaa. I feel that with every film your responses increase.

When you make your first film, you do not lose anything, because you have not gained anything. You get a better perspective as you get older.

What next, after Society Kaam Se Gayee?
I am now working on a script for Ravi Chopra. It will be an intense court room drama. I have been working on the subject for over a year. I am also working on another subject for a political action film.

Emraan Hashmi's bad boy image doesn't bother Prachi Desai, who plays his love interest in the forthcoming underworld drama "Once Upon A Time In Mumbai". She says people should talk about her co-star's achievements as an actor rather his on-screen kisses.

"Working with Emraan was one of my fondest experiences so far. He is one of my favourite co-actors, " Prachi, 21, who made her big screen debut as Farhan Akhtar's wife in "Rock On!", told in an interview.

"May be because he has worked with new faces in most of his films, he has huge patience. When I was working with him, I was extremely comfortable. He has no hang-ups. He doesn't behave like a star; rather he will make you feel comfortable.

"I think it's high time he really got credit. He has given so many hits but even till date unfortunately what people talk about is his kissing scenes, " she added.

In "Once Upon A Time In Mumbai", Prachi plays a conservative Muslim girl in the 1970s and she made yesteryear actress Mumtaz a reference point while doing the role.

"I play a Muslim girl, who is conservative, honest and poised. It is different from the roles I have played in my earlier films. It's more intense. The point of reference for my character was Mumtazji of that time."

Prachi also dresses like Dimple Kapadia in "Bobby" in one of the scenes. "Sorry, I am nowhere close to her, " said Prachi who wears the famous polka dress worn by Dimple.

Directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film is said to be inspired by two underworld figures, Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim, in their initial days.

But Prachi insists the filmmakers have taken just a few references.

"It's not a biopic. I am sure there are lots of things that they (filmmakers) have taken inspiration from. They have used real life instances, but it's not particularly of a person and his past. It has a lot of different things that have been put together, " said Prachi.

Prachi started her career with TV soap "Kasamh Se".

The actress maintains that her performance in "Rock On!" helped her in bagging the role in "Once Upon a Time in Mumbai" that also has Ajay Devgn and Kangana Ranaut.

"When you have National Award winners like Ajay and Kangana, a good actor like Emraan as your co-stars, you have to give your best to get noticed in the film, " she said.

Katrina Kaif turns a year older on July 16. The actress is shooting in Spain for Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara.

Punit Malhotra who's just helmed a hit for Karan Johar's Dharma Productions is hoping someone would notice him and cast him as a leading man next.

“I won't cast myself in my next directorial project. I can't direct and act together. But I'd like to act in a film next. An actor is what I came here to be, ” says Punit.

Would he be willing to be cast in a film written by Shobha De? Punit passes. “I'd get spanked on the sets every day.”

But Before that Punit is off on a holiday.

Is the I Hate Luv Storys (IHLS) director joining his leading Sonam Kapoor in Edinburgh where she returns to shoot for Mausam after a break to promote IHLS back home?

The buzz about the director seeing his leading lady just got stronger with people close to the two whispering that after the film's success the film's director is off to spend quality time with her in Edinburgh.

Though Punit, euphoric with the success of IHLS, admits he's off on a holiday he completely denies he is love-bound.

In fact Punit says he removed his shriveling retort to Shobha's comment only because his mother asked him to.

“My mother gave me hell about my remark on Shobha De. She wanted to know how I could talk someone my mother's age that way. Of course I wouldn't say such a thing to anyone ! I've been brought up to respect my seniors. But if you going to talk about spanking a 28-year old you better be prepared to face the music.”

Punit says he has no problems with the bad reviews for his film. “It's a free country. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. And I respect everyone's opinion. But you can't spank me if you didn't like my film. We aren't living in the Taliban. No, I am not at all apologetic about what I said.”

The actor flew to a small temple in Baramati to fulfill his promise last Saturday

Whenever, wherever Akshay Kumar is shooting especially in the unexplored interiors, he seeks out places of worship to visit and find solace. Be it a small Gurdwara tucked away in the bylanes of Amristar, or a Mata temple on a hill in Manali... Akshay will climb that extra mile, trek that extra vertical distance to get there.

It was so in Baramati too, where Akshay shot for several months this year for the new Priyadarshan film Khatta Meetha. In Baramati, he discovered a small temple in a far-off place that he immediately felt a connection with, and began to frequent that temple every day.

Says a source from the unit, "Without telling anyone, he'd disappear early in the morning, or any time of the day. Soon we found out where he was going. What we didn't know was that he had taken a mannat that he'd return to the temple when Khatta Meetha was ready for release."

So early Saturday morning, just before he was slated to fly to Manali to shoot a song with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Vipul Shah's Action Replayy, Akshay quietly chartered a flight for Baramati to fulfill his mannat at the temple.

While the actor refused to comment, saying religion was a very personal matter, a source close to him said, "Akshay takes matters connected to God very seriously. He wouldn't leave for Manali to shoot until he had fulfilled his mannat in that temple in Baramati."

Kareena Kapoor has taken the whole responsibility of promoting the Karan Johar's next movie We Are Family as Kajol will not be available for the same. Well, there is nothing fishy about this piece of news. It is only because Kajol is expecting her second baby and she cannot tour the country during that time.

We Are Family is the Bollywood remake of a 1998 Hollywood movie titled Stepmom, which starred Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon and Ed Harris.

The Kareena and Kajol starrer movie is scheduled to hit the screens during Eid in this September. Owing to unavailability of Kajol for the promotions, UTV and Dharma Productions have planned to take Kareena to several city tours to promote the film. Bebo is also very much comfortable with this as she says the project is very close to her heart. Kareena has given a bulk of dates to Karan for the promotion of We Are Family.

According to a source, “As Kajol is expecting, it will be very unfair to ask her to travel all around the country to promote the film. Kareena has confirmed her availability to Karan for the promotional activities”.

Now, it is the sole responsibility of Kareena to charm the audience and the press and earn the limelight.

Director Siddarth Malhotra, said, “The film is definitely releasing on Eid. It is everybody's film and the entire cast will be available whenever they can. But it would be too much if we expect Kajol to travel everywhere”.

Well, we hope Kareena can fill up the gap of Kajol during the promotions. The beautiful chemistry of the two ladies has been seen earlier in another Karan Johar movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001. Hope, it is recreated again in We Are Family!

Both the actress will be seen together in a special episode of the chat show "Koffee With Karan".

The duo, along with fashion designer Manish Malhotra, will be on the show to promote their upcoming film "We Are Family".

Saif Ali Khan put his generosity on extravagant display during the Moroccan schedule of Agent Vinod. The actor-producer didn't just book private villas but also threw a wrap party for his entire cast and crew at an exclusive, very expensive nightclub in Marrakech.

Says a source close to his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, "Bebo and Saif have been shooting for Agent Vinod in Tangiers and Marrakech for 20 days now.

When they shot in Tangiers, Saif had hired beautiful villas (called riads) for everyone. Each riad had its own private beach and terrace and was very close to the Atlas mountains and desert. Kareena loved the place as it had a very simple, grungy look."

Then the unit shifted to Marrakech. "Saif had a schedule wrap up party after we packed up there. Saif and his business partner Dinesh Vijan invited the entire crew to dance the night away at Theatro, a very expensive nightclub. One can also avail of personal DJs, it's that exclusive."

Tomato Blemish Remedy

1 tomato, ripe, chopped
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 T instant style oatmeal or old fashioned rolled oats
Blend all ingredients until just combined, in a paste. Apply to blemished skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay in place. Leave in place 10 minutes. Remove with damp washcloth, and rinse and tone.

Almond Facial Milk

The herbal waters are antiseptic and toning. Grapefruit seed extract is available in health food stores, and is included in the recipe as a preservative.
1/2 cup rose, lavender, or distilled water
1 teaspoon pure vegetable glycerin
1/4 to 1 teaspoon cold pressed organic almond oil
12 drops grapefruit seed extract
Make the rose or lavender water by placing a small handful of dried organic rose petals or lavender in a pint mason jar and adding boiling water to cover. Let steep overnight, then thoroughly strain, discarding the botanicals, and reserving the water. Combine the water and remaining ingredients in a glass jar and shake to blend. Dab some on your fingers or a cotton ball and massage into your skin. Rinse with warm water. Keep stored in the refrigerator for no more than a month or so. Discard at the first sign of mold.

Apple Cucumber Facial Mask

1/2 cucumber, peeled
1 egg white
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon lime juice
1 thick slice of apple
Several mint leaves
1 drop lime essential oil
Combine all ingredients except oil in a food processor and process until smooth. Add the essential oil last and mix well. Refrigerate the mixture for 10 minutes.
Apply a layer to your clean face and neck area and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water. Apple Cucumber Facial Mask is best when used immediately as the ingredients are perishable. The leftovers can be refrigerated in the coldest section of the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days but should be discarded after that.

Honey Oatmeal Facial

Honey is a natural antiseptic and is used to bind the honey and yogurt. The oatmeal will absorb excess oil from acne-prone skin and serve as a gentle exfoliant.
1/4 cup plain yogurt or buttermilk
1/2 cup oatmeal
2 tablespoons of honey
Finely grind or process the oatmeal in a blender or food processor. Set aside. In a small bowl, stir together honey and yogurt, and then add ground oatmeal. Mix thoroughly until a smooth paste consistency has been reached. Smooth over your face and neck, leave on for fifteen minutes, and rinse off with warm water. Can be used daily.

Basil Acne Tonic

Basil is known for its “soothing and toning” properties.
2 to 3 teaspoons dried basil leaves or a large handful of fresh leaves
1 C. boiling water
Steep basil leaves in water for 10 to 20 minutes. Cool, then apply to face with a white cotton ball. Keep tonic refrigerated. Recommended shelf life: 90 days.

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers.. This was in the initial days. While they were traveling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.”

The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!”
So he came back and told Buddha, “The water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink.” After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake.
This time too he found that the lake was muddy. He returned and informed Buddha about the same. After sometime, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back. The disciple reached the lake to find the lake absolutely clean and clear with pure water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.
Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said,” See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be…. and the mud settled down on its own – and you got clear water. Your mind is also like that! When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.
